Description

Eroded Weathered Statue / Dayak Guardian / Hampatong Statue. Circa 1940. Hampatong (also hempatong, empatung, tempatong, or kepatong) / figure / statue / Borneo figurine. Each Hampatong stands atop a slab plinth.

The Dayak Kebahan tribe originally came from Tanjung Bunga (Angus), Kayan, Sintang Regency , which then spread to inland areas which are now included in Melawi district , including the villages of Engkurai, Jaba, Poring, Nusa Kenyikap (leeches) and Kayu Bunga. 

Origin: Kalimantan Barat eroded weathered statue. Borneo.
