Masks in this region in Borneo are mainly used for harvest festival, fertility rites, soul catching and death ceremonies and spiritual dances.

Wooden Mask / authentic antique Dayak Modang Mask. In original antique condition, paints are still beautiful and the mask is damaged free. A hand held Dayak Gawai ritual and dancing mask for harvesting rites, it comes with bamboo grip during dances as well as to support the jaw’s movement. Circa 1930-40, Borneo. More wall objects of Borneo, Malaysia.
