RITUAL STAFF Tunggal Panaluan (One Pair) Batak Stick Ceremonial Pole Statue Sculpture Figurine

(1 customer review)

$2,200.00

One pair Toba Batak ceremonial pole (locally known as Tunggal Panaluan), each pole carved from three separate pieces of Cassia Javanica wood. Circa 1960 collection, absolutely beautiful, well kept, I’ve inspected them, clean them, they are in great aged condition.

tunggal panaluan is a magic staff used by shamans of the Batak people, who live in the highlands of North SumatraIndonesia. Traditionally the tunggal panaluan is made from wood of a specific tree and carved with human figures and embellished with horsehair and cooked human brain, both procured from sacrificial victims.
