Pregnant Statue / Fertility effigy of Batak Indonesia. Nice aging and patina, please note one of the statue has a long split along the arm to bottom base due to old age but otherwise very solid and in good condition. More beautiful in real life. Circa 1960.
Toba Batak are known traditionally for their weaving, wood carving and especially ornate stone tombs. Their burial and marriage traditions are very rich and complex.
