To carry a badik, one has to insert it in a waist-band. The badik, said to be the most popular dagger among all Malay knife, originally originated from Sumatra and Jawa, but has been falling out of use in recent times. Sometimes referred to as a butterfly knife due to its shape, but not to be confused with the Chinese or Filipino butterfly knives.
