CARVED WOOD / Borneo panel of an Aso Naga. Circa 1940, due to aging the carved wood panel has split lines as shown, but otherwise it is a lovely Borneo piece to add to your wall collection. A prowess mythical object for the Dayak Kayan warriors.

Wikipedia: The Dayak or Dyak or Dayuh are the native people of Borneo. It is a loose term for over 200 riverine and hill-dwelling ethnic subgroups, located principally in the central and southern interior of Borneo. The Dayak were animist in belief such as the mythical creature Aso; however, many converted to Islam and since the 19th century there has been mass conversion to Christianity.
