Mortar Pestle / Traditional Borneo Lesung. In Borneo the Lesung refers to a tool for punching substance, usually pepper and rice. Aristocrat pestle, the pestle comes without a mortar, and rarely used. Circa 1965, a one and only Dayak Bahau artpiece.

The Bahau is an ethnic group in West Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. They are the same tribes that carry the infamous Hudog Mask and Hudog Dance. Bahau Modang is a sub tribe of the Apo Kayan Bahau.
