Description
Heavy Machete / Borneo headhunting sword, its scabbard beautifully chased with Buah Berinjan / Creeper Vine and Aso Naga / Nabau / Dragon. The original blade remains sharp and powerful, there is a crack line on the wooden scabbard due to extensive use but otherwise this war artifact is in it’s class of it’s own. Circa 1950-55.

A parang is used primarily as a heavy machete for chopping tool or weapon. With a heavy blow, a parang can penetrate flesh or bone, while relatively little effect would be obtained by means of a cutting stroke.
