A large 1150mm tall antique authentic Patung Tiang Penunggu /Forest Guardian from the Serawai Dayak. Penunggu Patungs were placed at the edge of the jungle in calling back daily hunters to return home safely.

Description

Asian primitive figure excavated near a family home in Kalimantan Barat. It is carved from a single piece hardest wood or known as Belian / Iron / Billion wood. Thus, looking at the good condition, the pole was well covered from rain for the past many years. Therefore, please take note the beautiful greenish tone algae enhancing this pole.

Circa 1930.
